Magnificent

Sevens One hour race at Spa

The Freestyle team took pole in sweltering heat and
victory in the pouring rain at this weekends round
of the Magnificent Sevens series - it was at Spa,
what do you expect?
In Friday qualifying Nigel Bent, already a winner of the
opening Snetterton round, put in a mighty performance to
take pole in his CSR260 racecar despite it not being the fastest car in a straight line - there are some seriously quick cars in this championship now!
The race was very different however. As the cars sat in the collecting area
the clouds that had been gathering for the previous hour burst, flooding the
track for the opening 20 minutes of the one hour race. But in conditions
where some cars couldn't even keep up with the pace car for the rolling
start, ex motorbike racer Mark 'Ronnie' Coleing strode into the lead,
relishing the challenge and opening up a 30 second gap after only 5 laps.
With his son running the pitboard, the compulsory pitstop and remaining laps
on a drying track were patiently completed to give Mark a victory in only his
second Caterham race.

New Britsports Masters Series - Brands Hatch Saturday 7th November

We will be running two CSR260's in the inaugural Britsports Masters endurance series this Saturday. It should be a fantastic if chilly days racing culminating in a 90 minute GT race in the dark! We normally go to watch and it is a great spectacle.

Congratulations to Merrick Linnet! Overall SEMSEC Champion 2009

16 poles, 16 wins and 16 fastest laps in his class can only be described as a fantastic season for Merrick Linnet.

Despite soaking conditions for the last Lydden hill meeting, the team made the crucial adjustments to Merrick's Supawide inboard suspension to allow him to romp home for three more victories. His performance was such that he was hounding a number of Radicals but, with one eye on the championship, he left any heroics for another day and reeled off the laps without mistake to secure the overall SEMSEC championship.
